Risk and Respond
High Altitude Treks:

Risk and Response It is mandatory to have an enthusiastic attitude towards adventures at high altitudes, but one must keep in mind the risks associated with it. So, we have listed a few possible risks that might occur and the response towards them.

Risk: Altitude

You must be aware of the physiological changes in the body at high altitudes. Symptoms of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) such as headache and nausea might occur.

Response:

If you relate your condition with these symptoms, inform the trek leader in charge and keep up on his command. Our campsite is fully equipped with first aid kits, stretchers, and oxygen cylinders in case of emergency.

Risk: Weather

As we all know, the weather is forever changing in the Himalayas. It may change from being sunny to rainy or a snowfall. Although we keep a close check on the weather every time, it is still quite unpredictable. We will stop and wait if the weather remains unfavorable.

Response:

The Trek leaders and guides will decide the further plan according to the weather condition, and everyone must agree with their decision.

Risk:

Trekking over difficult terrains might result in injuries like leg sprains bruises etc. It is quite common. There is a very rare chance of getting serious injuries such as fractures or major cuts.

Response:

We have employed the trek leaders that are Certified Wilderness First Aid responders. They are well-trained to handle and take care of minor injuries with first aid kits. The person is immediately taken away to the nearby medical center on a stretcher.

Risk:

In the remote areas of Himalayas, there is a lack of communication devices due to no mobile networks. There will be no working SMS services or Whatsapp.

Response:

Walkie-talkies and runners are only devices on which we rely to communicate between the campsite and the base camps.
